FWCWS organizes and hosts national and international wrestling events and fosters long-term development of amateur wrestling. This includes facilities, equipment, scholarships, bursaries, and endowments for the development of athletes and coaches in northern Alberta.

FWCWS is considered the most successful and the leading organization for event hosting for amateur wrestling in Canada in terms of knowledge, experience and resources. Since inception, FWCWS has organized and hosted six major international events (including several World Championships) and eight major national championships. FWCWS is unique in that we are not a wrestling club but have over 32 years experience in event hosting that we share with other clubs and organizations.  Within the Alberta Capital region we provide wrestling mats and equipment, along with knowledge, support and volunteers to organize and host wrestling events at the local, regional, provincial, national and international level. We also fundraise to support the creation of long-term scholarships, bursaries and endowments to support wrestlers and coaches in the Alberta Capital region. To-date we have accumulated over $200,000 in equipment and contributed over $400,000 in funding of athlete and coaching endowments, scholarships and grants through the University of Alberta and Strathcona Wrestling Club.
